Ladies Away Weekend @ Manor of Grove

Sunda 7th July started off quite nice, but the rain arrived as we prepared to play. The rain was of biblical proportions. So we had to reduce our competitions to 9 holes.

There was joy at the end of the day with sighting of a double rainbow.

Dinner on Sunday evening was a lovely affair in the drawing room. We thought we were going to enjoy a peaceful evening but shared the drawing room with a group of men who were as noisy as our Maylands men.

But they were generous and put a bottle of wine on both our tables.

Finally on Monday we saw some sunshine. We gathered on the steps of the 1st tee for a photo opportunity before setting off in a greensomes competition with partners draw randomly Sunday evening.

Winners over the weekend (after some adjustments to ensure no one won more than one prize) were:

Sunday 1st Brenda; 2nd Diane promoted from 3rd

Monday pair was Sandra and Helon (who was 2nd on Sunday)

Nearest the pin on the 1st Sally; Jenny on the 13th.
